DSS, police mobilize operatives to Bwari-Kaduna road over sighting of bandits

The Department of State Services (DSS) has stepped up anti-kidnapping patrols along the Bwari–Kaduna road following reports of bandit activity in the area.
Security analyst Zagozola Makama reported that the operation, involving DSS operatives, the police Anti-Kidnapping Unit, local hunters, and vigilantes, was launched after sources confirmed the sighting of armed men suspected to be bandits at Kweri Forest near Gidan Dogo in Kaduna State.
According to the report, the joint security team swept through suspected hideouts and routes used by the criminals, while a fire drill was carried out in the forest to serve as a warning.
In response, the Nigerian Army Guards Brigade forward base has also been placed on high alert.
Meanwhile, intelligence efforts are said to be underway to determine the movement of the bandits, believed to be using the forest as a transit corridor to camps deeper inside Kaduna State.
