Tears as Veteran Nollywood actress Peju Ogunmola loses only son

The Nigerian movie industry has been plunged into mourning following the death of Shina Omobolanle, the only son of veteran actress Peju Ogunmola and her husband, legendary comic actor Sunday Omobolanle, popularly known as Papi Luwe.

The heartbreaking incident reportedly occurred while Ogunmola, 56, was on a movie set. Shina, who had only recently completed his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme, was described as the pride of his mother, who often celebrated his achievements publicly.

News of his passing was first shared by popular actor Odunlade Adekola, whose emotional post on social media sparked a wave of condolences from colleagues, fans, and admirers. Since then, Ogunmola’s social media pages have been flooded with messages of support and sympathy, with many Nollywood stars expressing their grief.

The death of Shina has left the Omobolanle family devastated, while the entire Nollywood community joins in mourning the painful loss of a promising young man whose life was cut short too soon.
