Police gun down armed robber, arrest accomplice in Ibadan shootout

Panic gripped residents of Oke-Ado, Ibadan, on Wednesday after operatives of the Oyo State Police Command stormed the area in pursuit of suspected armed robbers.

According to eyewitnesses, the two-man gang had been terrorizing bank customers in the city before police operatives trailed them to the busy Oke-Ado axis.

The suspects reportedly engaged the police in a fierce gun battle that lasted several minutes, leaving residents scampering for safety.

One of the suspects, who was said to have charms strapped to his body, was shot dead during the exchange of fire. His accomplice was apprehended alive and taken into custody for further investigation.
