Man remanded for beating daughter’s boyfriend to death in Ekiti

The Ekiti State Magistrate Court has ordered the remand of a middle-aged man, identified simply as Ibrahim, over the alleged murder of his daughter’s boyfriend.

According to reports, Ibrahim is accused of fatally assaulting the young man after discovering his relationship with his daughter.

The tragic incident reportedly occurred when the deceased visited the girl at her father’s residence near the popular Corpers’ Lodge along New Iyin Road, Ado-Ekiti.

The father, who wasn’t happy with their courtship, was said to have mobilized his siblings to beat up the young boy.

The boy reportedly died from excessive bleeding following the injury sustained from the attack.

Speaking with newsmen, Sunday Abutu, the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), said, “The girl’s father and two other suspects have been arraigned and remanded in prison.”
