United Airlines flight returns to Lagos after passenger medical emergency

A United Airlines flight from Lagos to Washington DC had to turn back early Tuesday morning due to a medical emergency involving one of its passengers.
Flight UA613 departed Lagos at around 12:10 a.m., but approximately an hour and 30 minutes into the journey, the captain made an announcement requesting that any medical personnel on board identify themselves to assist the affected passenger.
The plane subsequently returned to Lagos, prioritizing the safety and well-being of the passenger. Details regarding the passenger’s condition have not yet been disclosed.
Shortly after, the captain announced that the flight would have to return to Lagos as protection of lives was their priority.
The flight touched back down at its departure location around 2.26a.m. Medical personnel were immediately dispatched on board and the affected passenger was deboarded for further medical attention.
About an hour later, the flight was cancelled. Passengers were deboarded and promised to be taken to a hotel as of press time.
