How ex-IG Arase reportedly fell ill during Morocco trip, flown back to Nigeria in coma

Former Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Solomon Ehigiator Arase, a lawyer and the 18th IGP of Nigeria, was reportedly brought back from Morocco in a coma after falling seriously ill during a trip.
According to a report by NewsmakersNG, published by crime editor Dipo Kehinde, Arase traveled to Rabat, Morocco last week to attend a wedding. Witnesses say he fell ill after a meal during the ceremony, leaving friends and family alarmed over his sudden health crisis.
The Edo-born former top cop, known for his dynamic personality, left for Morocco in his usual boisterous spirit, making the turn of events all the more shocking to those close to him.

He slipped into coma. He was flown back to Abuja in that state on Friday.
Family sources, according to the report, were hopeful of his recovery, when he briefly opened his eyes on Saturday. But 24 hours later, he was gone.
NewsmakersNG published a photograph of the private ceremony showing Arase in high spirits.
In the picture, the former Police boss looked elegantly dressed and laughed heartily with another guest.
According to the report, Arase, who was the immediate past chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), was admitted to Cedarcrest Hospital, Abuja, where he passed on.
His son, Solomon Arase Jnr., who announced his death, said the former police boss died after a ‘brief illness’’ at 69.
His death sent shock waves around the country, especially in the police, where his imprint remains indelible.
