Task Force Officer Allegedly Slaps Tricycle Rider

A shocking incident in Ajah, Lagos, has sparked public outrage after a disturbing video surfaced on social media showing a task force officer allegedly slapping a tricycle rider into a coma during a dispute over ₦200.

The viral clip captures the harrowing moment the keke driver collapsed to the ground, lying motionless, while stunned onlookers gathered at the scene. Eyewitnesses claim the altercation began when the officer demanded an extra payment, which the driver reportedly refused.

What has fueled even more anger online is the officer’s reaction in the aftermath. Despite the driver’s critical condition, the uniformed officer appeared indifferent, continuing with his duties as though nothing had happened.

The unidentified voice behind the camera claimed that the officer slapped the driver because of money he demanded from him. The confrontation reportedly escalated quickly, leaving the driver unconscious on the spot.

What has drawn even more criticism is the absence of security operatives at the scene. No effort was made to intervene or offer medical help to the injured driver throughout the duration of the video.

As at the time of filing this report, there has been no official statement from either the police or the Ajah task force regarding the incident.
