Mechanic killed as explosion rocks Kaduna community

A deadly tanker explosion has claimed the life of a 28-year-old mechanic in Tafa town, Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The incident happened around noon on Friday when a tanker under repair suddenly erupted in flames. The vehicle’s registration number and the identity of its driver have yet to be determined.

“Upon receipt of the report, security forces were mobilized to the scene alongside his patrol team. Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim, identified as Kabiru Usman, was working on the tanker when the explosion occurred,” a source told security analyst Zagozola Makama.

Usman was rushed to Umaru Musa Yar’adua Memorial Hospital in Sabon Wuse but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, according to medical officials.
