Terrorists set military s MRAP vehicle ablaze as troops gun down their commanders others

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have thwarted an assault by Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters in Wulgo, Borno State, eliminating at least seven insurgents, including two of their top commanders.

Security analyst and counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama reported on Thursday that the fierce gun battle left several other terrorists badly injured.

The terrorist commanders were identified as Abu Nazir, the Munzir of Juye, and Abu Fatima, the Munzir of Koloram.

In the aftermath of the clash, soldiers recovered four motorcycles from the attackers. However, a Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle belonging to the military was torched by the retreating fighters.

“The terrorists came heavily armed but were decisively engaged. We inflicted heavy casualties on them, including two of their senior commanders,” a source told Makama.
