‘How market’ – Onanuga mocks Atiku, Obi, El-Rufai after ADC’s bye-election loss
Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga has taken a jab at opposition figures following the poor showing of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the recent by-elections.
On Monday morning, Onanuga shared a picture on X featuring former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party’s Peter Obi, and former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, captioned: “How is the market now?”
The post is widely seen as a taunt, highlighting questions about the relevance and influence of opposition parties in Nigeria’s current political landscape.
Recall that the opposition leaders, who are targeting President Bola Tinubu’s removal in 2027, participated in the election via the African Democratic Congress, ADC, to test their popularity.
However, the All Progressives Congress, APC, cleared the majority of the seats, with the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and the New Nigerian Peoples Party, NNPP, recording some victories.
