 Nigerian Army reshuffles top command names new GOCs intelligence logistics chiefs

The Nigerian Army has announced a fresh round of senior postings and appointments affecting its high command, with new officers taking charge of key formations and departments across the country.

Under the new arrangement, Major General Chinedu Nnebeife will now lead 2 Division in Ibadan as General Officer Commanding (GOC), while Major General A.S.K. Wase assumes command of 1 Division in Kaduna.

Other strategic postings include Major General M.O. Erebelu as Provost Marshal, and Major General A.A. Idris as Chief of Military Intelligence (CMI). Major General J.E. Osifo continues as Director-General of the Nigerian Army School of Finance and Administration (NASFA), while Major General A.A. Adeyinka takes over as Chief of Logistics at Army Headquarters.

In addition, Major General Adetoba now heads the Nigerian Army College of Logistics Management (NACOLM), Major General Ugiagbe becomes Chief of Army Standards and Evaluation (CASE), and Major General Akesode is to lead the Monitoring, Verification and Compliance Mission in Ethiopia’s Tigray Region.

Cybersecurity operations will now be directed by Major General M.T. Abdullahi, who takes charge of the Nigerian Army Cyber Warfare Centre (NACWC).

According to the Army, these appointments are scheduled to take effect between August 19 and 25, 2025.
