INEC officials, politician nabbed with huge cash in Ogun hotel

Security personnel in Ogun State have apprehended individuals believed to be staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after they were allegedly found with a large amount of money on the eve of the state by-election.
They were arrested on Saturday at a hotel in Iperu-Remo, Ikenne Local Government Area, alongside a politician accused of plotting to buy votes.
A viral video recorded during the operation showed a male and a female INEC staff member squatting as security operatives questioned them.
Some persons identified as members of the Peoples Democratic Party were also present at the scene.
During interrogation, an officer alleged that intelligence reports indicated the electoral officials had earlier received a substantial cash payment from party representatives to influence voters during the poll.
