Chelsea hit with triple injury setback ahead of Crystal Palace clash

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has confirmed that three important members of his squad will miss Sunday’s Premier League meeting with Crystal Palace due to injury concerns.

Addressing reporters in his pre-match press conference on Friday, Maresca revealed that Benoît Badiashile, Levi Colwill and Roméo Lavia will all be unavailable for selection at Stamford Bridge.

According to the Italian manager, Colwill faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines, while Badiashile and Lavia are progressing through their recovery programmes.

“[Badiashile and Lavia] are in the process of coming back [from injuries],” Maresca said.
“He [Colwill] is ok, aware he’ll be out for a long time,” Maresca added.

Chelsea approach the fixture on the back of a victory over Serie A side AC Milan, with kick-off against Palace scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sunday.
