You re too desperate for power Abure knocks Peter Obi over bye election moves

Factional Labour Party National Chairman, Julius Abure, has launched a scathing attack on the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, accusing him of being overly desperate to rule Nigeria.

In a statement personally signed on Thursday, Abure alleged that Obi was responsible for the lingering crisis within the Labour Party, claiming his ambition to dominate the party’s structure had driven him “haywire.”

Abure further accused the former Anambra State governor of betraying the goodwill extended to him by party leaders.

“This is why we have maintained that Peter Obi lacks the competence, character and capacity to actualise the vision of a new Nigeria.

“Nigerians should not forget in a hurry that it was Peter Obi that created the crisis in the Labour Party which he is now citing as a reason why people should not vote for the party,” Abure said.

The embattled Labour Party chieftain’s remarks followed Obi’s recent directive urging his supporters to back candidates of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Saturday’s bye-elections scheduled to hold in several states.
