EFCC conducts sting operation in Uyo, nabs 12 Yahoo Boys

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,  EFCC, Uyo Zonal Directorate, have arrested twelve suspected internet fraudsters commonly known as Yahoo Boys.

A terse statement issued by the anti-graft commission on Friday, said the suspects were arrested during in a sting operation conducted around Stadium Road, Unity Road, and Ekpri Nsukara in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

“They were arrested following credible intelligence on their suspected involvement in internet crimes.

“Items recovered from them include 20 mobile phones and three laptops.

“They will be charged to court at the conclusion of ongoing investigations,” it said.
