PSG win first-ever UEFA Super Cup after dramatic comeback against Spurs

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) clinched their maiden UEFA Super Cup title in spectacular fashion, overturning a two-goal deficit to defeat Tottenham Hotspur 4-3 on penalties at the Bluenergy Stadium.
Tottenham, under new boss Thomas Frank, looked set for glory after Micky van de Ven tapped in from close range in the 39th minute and Cristian Romero headed home Pedro Porro’s free-kick early in the second half.
PSG’s attack, led by Ousmane Dembélé and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, struggled against Spurs’ organised defence.
The match turned in the final minutes when Lee Kang-in fired in a tight-angle strike in the 80th minute, and Gonçalo Ramos powered home a late header from Dembélé’s cross to make it 2-2. With no extra time in the competition, the game went straight to penalties.
Spurs initially led after PSG’s Vitinha missed, but Lucas Chevalier, standing in for the departed Gianluigi Donnarumma, saved Van de Ven’s spot kick before Mathys Tel missed the target.
Ramos, Dembélé, and Lee Kang-in scored for PSG, and Nuno Mendes buried the winning penalty to seal the historic win.
