Super Falcons goalie Nnadozie shortlisted for Ballon d Or award
Ballon D’or Award Nominees

Nigeria’s Chiamaka Nnadozie has been nominated for the prestigious 2025 Women’s Yachine Trophy, an accolade under the Ballon d’Or awards, which recognizes the best female goalkeeper in the world.

The 24-year-old Super Falcons shot-stopper earned the nomination following an outstanding season with Paris FC, where she played a pivotal role in helping the club lift the 2025 Coupe de France Féminine — their first major title in nearly two decades.

Nnadozie was the hero in the final against Paris Saint-Germain, pulling off crucial saves and ultimately sealing victory in a dramatic 5-4 penalty shootout after a tense 0-0 draw at the Stade de l’Épopée in Calais.

Her international form was equally impressive. She played a vital role in Nigeria’s triumph at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), where the Super Falcons won their record 10th title after overcoming host nation Morocco.

Nnadozie’s brilliance throughout the tournament earned her the Best Goalkeeper award as well as a spot in the Team of the Tournament.

Among those joining Nnadozie on the Yachine Trophy nomination list are Ann-Katrin Berger of Gotham FC, Cata Coll of Barcelona Femeni, Hannah Hampton of Chelsea Women, and Daphne van Domselaar of Arsenal Women.
