A Chinese national employed as a supervisor at BN Ceramics in Ajaokuta, Kogi State, has passed away after collapsing while on duty, according to confirmation from the police.

The deceased, identified as 47-year-old Mr. Luo Zhi Mao, reportedly slumped at around 6:30 p.m. on August 2 while working in the Press Department of the ceramics company.

He was first taken to Covenant Hospital in Ajaokuta before being referred to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Lokoja. However, due to an ongoing strike by medical personnel at the FMC, he was later transferred to Shifaah Hospital in Lokoja.

Mr. Luo was pronounced dead at approximately 9:30 p.m. on August 5 at Shifaah Hospital.

His remains have since been deposited at the Kogi State Specialist Hospital Mortuary, where an autopsy is expected to be carried out.

Although authorities are still investigating the cause of death, sources say there is currently no suspicion of foul play.

BN Ceramics management has not yet released an official statement regarding the incident.
