JUST IN: NNPCL boss Ojulari makes virtual appearance at event amid resignation speculations

Amid growing speculation about his alleged removal, Bayo Ojulari, the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), made a virtual appearance at an event organized by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (Nigerian Council) in Lagos on Monday.

A video shared with Daily Trust by attendees showed Ojulari addressing the gathering via Zoom, where he delivered a keynote message, despite not being physically present at the event.

Ojulari’s virtual appearance comes amid swirling rumours that he may have been sacked by the presidency under unclear circumstances. However, there has been no official confirmation or statement from either the presidency or the NNPCL to address the matter.

The last confirmed public function attended by Ojulari was a town hall meeting with NNPCL staff at the company’s headquarters in Abuja, according to a statement released last Wednesday.
