INEC announces date for nationwide voter registration

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that the 2025 Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise will commence across the country on August 18.

The commission revealed the schedule in a post on its official X account on Friday.

According to INEC, the online pre-registration portal (cvr.inecnigeria.org) will open on August 18, while physical registration will follow from August 25.

The in-person exercise will take place in all local government offices of the commission and at designated registration centres nationwide.

INEC noted that the registration exercise will run from Mondays to Fridays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

“Your votes start with registration. Don’t miss your opportunity to register,” the commission stated.
