Naira edges higher against dollar, wraps up week at N1,534.72

The Naira ended the trading week with a slight gain against the U.S. dollar, appreciating by 4.52 kobo in the official foreign exchange market on Friday.

Data released by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) showed the local currency trading at N1,534.72 per dollar, reflecting a 0.05 percent improvement from Thursday’s closing rate of N1,534.79.

Earlier in the week, the Naira recorded modest losses, exchanging at N1,535.24 on Tuesday and sliding further to N1,535.62 on Wednesday.
Trading began on Monday with a minor depreciation of 20 kobo.
