North-Central youth group applauds military for repelling terror threat in Niger State

The North-Central Youth Professionals (NCYP) have lauded the Nigerian Armed Forces for their swift and successful response in halting a terrorist advance from Zamfara into parts of Niger State.
In a statement released on Thursday, the NCYP praised the military’s July 22 operation that disrupted a large-scale movement of terrorists from the Baban Doka area of Maru Local Government in Zamfara towards the Ragada and Warari communities in Rijau LGA, Niger State.
Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA (OPFY), operating under the Joint Task Force, intercepted the attackers near Inana Village. The combined forces, drawn from Mariga and Zuru axes, launched a decisive offensive that led to the neutralization of many of the insurgents during an intense firefight.
Support from the air component of OPFY proved critical, providing real-time intelligence, surveillance, and precision airstrikes that backed the ground operation and contributed to its success.
In a press release jointly signed by NCYP President Sunday Dikko and Secretary Hassana Danladi, the group expressed gratitude to the Armed Forces for making the North-Central region a “difficult terrain” for terrorists.
“The people of North-Central must cooperate with troops of the Armed Forces of Nigeria to deal with the criminal infiltrators. They are not welcome to our region,” the NCYP said.
The group noted that the incursion into the North-Central was likely triggered by intensified military pressure in other regions.
“We are aware that they are moving here due to massive offensive in the NW and NE by troops of the military under the able leadership of the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Chris Musa.
“We stand with the Armed Forces. We will support you to make our region peaceful,” NCYP added.
