Ganduje hails Nentawe on APC chairmanship position says his emergence timely strategic

Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has extended his congratulations to Professor Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe following his emergence as the party’s new National Chairman.

In a statement personally signed on Thursday, Dr. Ganduje welcomed the development, describing Yilwatda’s selection as a well-timed and strategic move for the APC, particularly as the party navigates a defining moment in its evolution.

Ganduje, who previously served as governor of Kano State, expressed strong faith in Yilwatda’s leadership qualities, citing his intellect, administrative acumen, and maturity as key strengths that will benefit the party.

He also applauded the APC’s National Executive Committee (NEC) and other party structures for ensuring a consensus-based and transparent selection process that led to Yilwatda’s emergence.

Dr. Ganduje encouraged the new chairman to uphold and advance the structures and achievements laid down during his own tenure, just as he had built upon the foundations of those before him.

He went on to commend President Bola  Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for what he described as their wise and statesmanlike guidance throughout the transition phase.

“Our President and Vice President have once again shown maturity and far-sightedness in the affairs of our great party. Their commitment to ensuring cohesion and stability within the APC is commendable, and I urge all stakeholders to rally around the new leadership to deliver on the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda,” he said.

The former chairman called on party leaders at all levels—including the National Working Committee (NWC), NEC, youth and women wings, and state chapters—to give their full support to the new leadership. He emphasized that unity, loyalty, and discipline must continue to define the APC’s internal culture.

“As I bow out with a sense of fulfillment, I wish to assure Prof. Yilwatda of my unflinching support, counsel, and brotherly solidarity. I urge all our leaders, governors, lawmakers, and faithful party members across the federation to queue behind him and give him the necessary backing to consolidate on our party’s vision of building a united, progressive, and inclusive political platform for all Nigerians,” he stated.

Dr. Ganduje reaffirmed his commitment to the party and offered to provide guidance and experience whenever needed. He also prayed for divine support for Yilwatda as he assumes the leadership role.

He also called for divine wisdom, strength, and courage for Prof. Yilwatda as he takes up the mantle of leadership at a time of both opportunity and responsibility.
