Atah applauds Kano s heroic reception of Tinubu hails President s compassionate leadership

The Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Abdullahi Atah, has expressed heartfelt appreciation to the people of Kano State for the resounding and emotional welcome they extended to President Bola Tinubu during his condolence visit to the state on Friday, July 18, 2025.

President Tinubu’s visit was in honor of the late business icon and philanthropist, Aminu Dantata, and was met with an outpouring of affection that reflected the deep connection between the Kano populace and the nation’s leader.

In a statement issued by his aide, Seyi Olorunsola, Atah emphasized  the scale of the reception, noting that tens of thousands of citizens lined the streets from the moment the President’s aircraft landed at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport—a powerful display of support and admiration.

“The people of Kano have, once again, demonstrated their legendary hospitality and respect for true leadership. Their turnout was not just a welcome—it was a loud statement of appreciation to a President who has proven, again and again, that he is a leader who cares deeply for his people in their moments of grief and need,” Atah said.

The Minister went on to commend President Tinubu’s show of empathy and humility during the visit, describing it as a reflection of his people-centered leadership. “Mr. President has once again shown that leadership is more than governance—it is about humanity. His decision to personally condole with the family of the late Alhaji Aminu Dantata is a testament to his enduring values of respect, service, and solidarity,” he added.

Atah also recalled the President’s earlier gesture following the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari on July 13, 2025. He praised Tinubu’s leadership in galvanizing national unity during that moment, declaring a mourning period and organizing a state burial marked by dignity and honour.

“These dual moments of compassion—first in honoring a national statesman and then in mourning a business and philanthropic titan—highlight a consistent character in the President: a sincere commitment to unity, dignity, and the emotional pulse of the nation,” he observed.

He further recognized the role played by the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibril, in ensuring the visit to Kano was smooth and impactful.

“Senator Barau Jibril remains a pride of the North. His presence, tact, and genuine loyalty to both the President and the people of Kano were key to the overwhelming success of the visit. His efforts did not go unnoticed, and we in Kano are thankful for his bridge-building role in these emotional moments,” Atah stated.

According to the Minister, Tinubu’s actions have further solidified his standing in Northern Nigeria, earning him admiration from Islamic leaders, political figures, business stakeholders, and ordinary citizens.

“There’s no doubt that Nigeria is blessed to have President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at this point in our national journey. His ability to stand with the people in mourning, to honor legacies without political filters, and to offer personal presence rather than remote sympathies, is the mark of a truly seasoned statesman,” he said.

Atah also reaffirmed the unwavering support of the Kano people for President Tinubu’s leadership, emphasizing that such compassionate gestures will not be forgotten.

“These gestures, simple yet profound, are what endear a leader to his people. And for Northern Nigeria, these acts are not just noticed—they are remembered. The President’s name now rings even deeper in the hearts of our people, and his kindness will continue to count for him as he seeks to deliver on his promises of good governance for all Nigerians,” he said.
