Generators are silent Tinubu s aide Onanuga hails 2 months of uninterrupted power in parts of Lagos

Presidential aide, Bayo Onanuga, has applauded the steady electricity supply now being experienced in parts of Lagos, crediting the improvement to recent upgrades in the power infrastructure and the impact of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Onanuga, who serves as Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Tinubu, shared his excitement in a post on his X handle on Saturday.

He revealed that residents in his Lekki-Ajah neighbourhood have enjoyed uninterrupted power for more than two months—an experience he described as “simply incredible.”

“In Lekki-Ajah, Lagos, where my family resides, we have had an uninterrupted power supply for over two months. The roar of our generator is now a thing of the past. Also gone is our anxiety about whether our solar power will last through the night,” he wrote.

According to him, the improvement is largely due to the installation of a new 63 MVA-132/33 kV mobile substation at the Ajah Transmission Station, and the upgrade of their area to Band A by the electricity distribution company.

“It’s simply incredible. I can hardly believe the seamless power supply, aided by the recent installation of a 63 MVA-132/33 kV mobile substation at the Ajah Transmission Station, is achievable within my lifetime. Although EKEDC has upgraded us to Band A, I commend the company and the entire electricity power supply chain for this feat. President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda is not a mere slogan. It’s the real deal,” Onanuga added.

His remarks come amid ongoing discussions about the reliability of electricity across Nigeria, with many areas still struggling with irregular supply.
