Edo Ighodalo s campaign DG Iduoriyekemwen dumps PDP gives reason

A prominent figure in the Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Matthew Iduoriyekemwen, has officially withdrawn his membership from the party, citing unresolved internal crises at both the national and state levels.

Iduoriyekemwen, who served as the Director-General of the Asue Ighodalo/Osarodion Ogie campaign during the 2024 Edo governorship race, announced his resignation in a letter addressed to the PDP chairman of Ward 5, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area.

In the letter, he wrote:“I am writing to formally resign my membership from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ward 5, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area, Edo State.
This is a painstaking decision for me, as the PDP has played a vital role in my political journey and personal development.
For this, I remain deeply grateful and will always cherish the platform the party provided me.
However, recent developments within the party both at the state and national levels have made it difficult for me to remain as a member of the party.”

He expressed disappointment in the direction the party has taken in recent years, stating that its foundational ideals have been compromised.

“The values and principles that once defined the PDP, as laid down by its founding fathers, have been eroded,” he noted.

“The happenings in the party no longer align with the vision they had for a truly democratic, all-inclusive, and people-oriented political party.”

Iduoriyekemwen said the decision was not made lightly, and that stepping away from active participation would allow him to focus more on personal priorities.

“In view of this, I have decided to resign my membership of the party to enable me to concentrate fully on my family and business engagements,” he added.
