Angry youths kill 3 suspected robbers in Benue community

Tensions ran high in Maav-Ya Community, Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State, as three suspected robbers were reportedly beaten to death by enraged youths.
The Benue State Police Command confirmed the incident, which occurred after the suspects—identified as Zwanen Terzungwe, Iordepuu Gwa, and Aondongu Terna—were apprehended by community members who accused them of engaging in criminal activities.
According to a police source who spoke on condition of anonymity, the youths took the suspects to the community council hall, where they subjected them to mob justice, resulting in their deaths before security operatives could intervene.
However, he said the perpetrators responsible for the jungle justice fled before their arrival.
He added that the remains of the deceased suspects were evacuated and deposited at the Kwande General Hospital.
While warning youths against jungle justice, the police said efforts were underway to identify and arrest those involved in the mob action.
