Buhari’s body departs London for burial in Daura

The body of former President Muhammadu Buhari has departed London, United Kingdom, en route to his hometown, Daura in Katsina State, where he will be laid to rest later today.

Footage aired by Channels Television on Tuesday morning showed the late president’s remains being airlifted from London aboard the Nigerian presidential aircraft.

The solemn journey marks the final return of the elder statesman who passed away on Sunday evening at the age of 82. His burial will take place in Daura according to Islamic rites, with top government officials, family members, and dignitaries expected to be in attendance.
