2027: Real reason I am supporting ADC – Sule Lamido

Former Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, has declared his support for the emerging opposition coalition under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), saying the move is aimed at rescuing Nigeria’s democracy from further decline.

Speaking during an empowerment programme held at the PDP headquarters in Dutse, Lamido emphasized that his decision to back the coalition was a bold step in defense of the nation’s democratic values.

According to the former governor, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has continued to abuse power, suppress opposition voices, and erode the foundations of democracy. He noted that the ADC-led coalition presents a renewed hope for Nigerians seeking a more transparent, inclusive, and accountable governance structure.

“Our coming together under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) led by Senator David Mark is for the unity and progress of the country not for selfish interest.

“Any patriotic Nigerian who has Nigeria at heart must come together to gives his contribution to unseat the present administration inorder save the country and Nigerians from the difficult situation.

“Our duty now is to to advice and guide for the betterment of the country and brighter future of Nigeria,” he said.

Lamido commended Jigawa PDP federal lawmakers for living up to expectations and promoting the values and principles of the PDP.

On his part, the senator representing Jigawa South-West Senatorial District, Mustapha Khabeeb said over 3000 constituents benefited from the empowerment program.
