Gov Fintiri imposes 24-hour curfew on Adamawa LG

Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has ordered a 24-hour curfew in Lamurde Local Government Area in response to recent violent outbreaks that have disrupted peace in the region.
The announcement was made in a statement released in Yola by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, who confirmed that the directive takes immediate effect.
“The government views these disturbances as unacceptable and has directed security agencies to enforce the curfew strictly. The curfew is effective immediately and will remain in place until further notice,” he said.
The state government emphasized that the measure is aimed at curbing unrest and restoring stability. Wonosikou issued a stern warning that violators of the curfew would face the full weight of the law.
“Residents are urged to abide by the curfew and provide useful information to security agencies to ensure peaceful coexistence. Government will not condone acts of violence and will take necessary measures to restore peace and order,” he added.
Wonosikou also urged locals to refrain from spreading false information and work closely with law enforcement to bring the situation under control.
According to him, the administration remains committed to safeguarding lives and property while ensuring the safety and security of all citizens.
