BREAKING: FG approves establishment of new university

The Federal Government through the National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved the establishment of a new specialised institution, Ebonyi State University of Aeronautics and Aerospace Engineering, Ezza, Ebonyi State.
The announcement was made on Friday by the Executive Secretary of NUC, Prof. Abdullahi Ribadu, during a brief ceremony in Abuja.
Prof. Ribadu, who presented the certificate of recognition to Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru , represented by Deputy Governor Patricia Obila, said the move is part of efforts to expand access to higher education, particularly in science and technology fields.
He said the new university brings the total number of universities in the country to 300, out of which 69 are owned by states.
With this development, Ebonyi State now hosts six universities: two federal, three state-owned, and one private institution.
