Presidency moves against fraudsters targeting school feeding programme

The Presidency has issued a strong warning to individuals attempting to defraud the National School Feeding Programme, vowing swift legal action against anyone found guilty of impersonation or forgery.
In a statement released on Tuesday by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on School Feeding, authorities condemned the actions of fraudsters posing as government officials to extort money from contractors.
“The Presidency will not tolerate any form of criminal exploitation of this national initiative. The misuse of government identity to deceive and defraud contractors is a direct attack on the integrity of the State and will be treated accordingly.”
This development comes after a fake syndicate was discovered using counterfeit Presidential letterheads to scam potential contractors with false promises of school feeding contracts for public primary schools.
The Presidency emphasized that a full investigation is underway and promised that all those connected to the scheme will face justice.
“Impersonation, forgery, and extortion under the guise of official government engagement will be met with the full force of the law,” the statement read.
