Gov Alia launches quick response squad to tackle insecurity in Benue

In a decisive move to enhance the fight against insecurity, Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has unveiled a new security initiative known as the Quick Response Squad (QRS).

The squad is expected to bolster the state’s capacity to respond swiftly to security threats, especially in vulnerable communities.

The official launch of the QRS was conducted on behalf of the governor by his deputy, Dr. Sam Ode.

The Quick Response Squad is a joint operation made up of personnel from the Civilian Protection Guard (CPG), the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), local hunters, and the Joint Task Force (JTF). This diverse team is strategically designed to combine local intelligence with swift tactical response.

According to the state government, the QRS will be deployed to hotspots and flashpoints across Benue to prevent, contain, and neutralize threats, providing residents with a renewed sense of safety.
