Super Eagles coach, Chelle, unveils 35-man provisional squad for CHAN 2025

Head Coach of Nigeria’s national football team, Eric Chelle, has released a 35-man provisional list for the Super Eagles B squad ahead of the 8th African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2025, which will take place in August across Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
Among those named are team captain Junior Nduka and Papa Daniel Mustapha, two experienced players expected to play pivotal roles in Nigeria’s campaign.
The CHAN tournament is reserved for footballers who play in their country’s domestic leagues.
In a statement issued Friday, Ademola Olajire, Director of Communications at the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), confirmed the squad list.
Leading the attack is forward Anas Yusuf, alongside a host of standout performers from the Nigeria Premier Football League.
First-choice goalkeeper Henry Ani makes the cut, as do defenders Waliu Ojetoye, Ifeanyi Onyebuchi, Kabiru Mohammed, and Uzondu Harrison.

Also making the list are midfielders Haddi Haruna and Saviour Isaac, and forwards such as Sunday Megwo, Adamu Abubakar, and Godwin Obaje.
Goalkeepers Kayode Bankole and Ebenezer Harcourt were included, along with defenders Sodiq Ismaila and Stephen Manyo Egbe.
The midfield will also feature Adam Aminu, while Atule Joseph and Temitope Vincent are among the forwards selected.
Nigeria, who finished as runners-up in the 2018 edition, are drawn into Group D of the 19-team competition. They will face defending champions Senegal, along with Sudan and Congo.
Matches against Senegal and Sudan will be played at Amman Stadium in Zanzibar, while their final group game against Congo is set for Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
“All invited players must report to camp at Remo Stars Sports Institute, Ikenne-Remo, Ogun, on Monday,” Olajire said.
He also stated that players are required to come with their international passports and valid club licences.
