NNPP rules out Kwankwaso presidential bid under party in 2027

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has declared that its former presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, will not contest the 2027 general elections under its platform.

This was revealed in a statement issued on Saturday by the NNPP’s National Chairman, Dr. Agbo Major.

Major’s remarks came in response to a claim by party chieftain Buba Galadima, who had insisted that Kwankwaso remained with the NNPP and intended to seek the presidency again in 2027 under its banner.

Galadima had also dismissed speculation that Kwankwaso was planning to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

However, Dr. Major reaffirmed that both Galadima and Kwankwaso had been expelled from the NNPP.

“We cannot even allow Kwankwaso for whatever reason to return on the NNPP fold because of the problems and internal wranglings he created for us,” Major stated.

He further emphasized that the party no longer considers Kwankwaso a viable candidate for future contests.

“He does not have the pedigree to match President Tinubu in any contest and so his ambition is dead on arrival,” he added.
