Rashford, Sancho, 3 other Man Utd players request to leave club

No fewer than five Manchester United players have informed the club of their desire to move on from the English premiership side ahead of the upcoming season.

Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Tyrell Malacia, and Antony, whose roles have diminished under manager Ruben Amorim since his appointment in November, are seeking fresh opportunities elsewhere.

Football journalist Fabrizio Romano disclosed the development on Friday via his official X account, stating:“BREAKING: Marcus Rashford, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, Tyrell Malacia, and Jadon Sancho have all informed Manchester United they wish to leave.Man Utd have delayed their return date until later in July to allow them time to explore solutions further.”

United has reportedly offered the players continued access to club training facilities while they work on securing new deals, in case transfers are not finalized in the short term.

Rashford, who spent the latter half of last season at Aston Villa, appears to be edging closer to an exit after his No. 10 shirt was reassigned to new £62.5 million signing Matheus Cunha.

Sancho’s proposed move to Chelsea reportedly broke down over wage demands, leading the London club to trigger a £5 million exit clause rather than complete a permanent £25 million transfer.

Garnacho, meanwhile, was advised by Amorim to seek another team following his frustration at being left on the bench during the European Cup final against Tottenham.

Antony, who found form on loan at Real Betis, may return to Spain as the La Liga side explores another loan deal with a £30 million purchase clause.

As for Malacia, the Dutch full-back has struggled for game time due to injuries. His temporary spell with PSV Eindhoven did not convert into a permanent move, with the club unwilling to activate the £8.3 million option.
