 Panic as 3 storey building collapses in Lagos

Tragedy struck early Thursday morning in the bustling Lagos Island area as a three-storey building collapsed, leaving several occupants injured and triggering widespread panic among residents.

The ill-fated structure, located on Asesi Lane near the popular Adeniji Adele Road axis, gave way without warning in the early hours of the day. Eyewitnesses described a sudden thunderous crash followed by frantic screams, as dust and debris engulfed the neighbourhood.

Emergency responders, including officials from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), were quickly deployed to the scene to assist in the rescue efforts.

“Four persons have been rescued from the rubble. They have been taken to hospital,” Lagos State Information Commissioner Gbenga Omotoso said in a Facebook post.

Emergency responders from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), among others, have since gotten to the incident scene.

While the exact number of injuries remains unconfirmed, eyewitnesses reported that multiple residents were hurt and taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
