President Tinubu receives Saint Lucia’s highest national honour

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been conferred with the title of Knight Commander of the Order of Saint Lucia, the highest national honour awarded by the Caribbean island nation.
The prestigious investiture took place during a special state ceremony, honouring President Tinubu’s efforts in strengthening diplomatic relations and fostering mutual cooperation between Nigeria and Saint Lucia.
According to the Saint Lucian government, the recognition was not only symbolic but also a testament to Tinubu’s growing influence on the global stage and his commitment to promoting unity and collaboration among nations.
The tittle, rarely awarded to foreign leaders, was presented amid cheers and fanfare.
Tinubu had on Monday established a diplomatic relationship between Nigeria and Saint Lucia, describing the move as a symbolic bridge aimed at fostering closer ties between both nations.
The announcement was made during a special joint session of the Senate and House of Assembly of Saint Lucia at the William Jefferson Clinton Ballroom, Sandals Grande, Gros Islet.
President Tinubu proposed the creation of a Joint Commission or Political Consultation Agreement to serve as a structured platform for cooperation between Nigeria and the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS).
