FG delegation arrives in Saudi Arabia for Dantata’s funeral

A high-powered delegation from the Federal Government of Nigeria has arrived in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, to receive the body of the late elder statesman and renowned business mogul, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, ahead of his burial in the Islamic holy city.
Alhaji Dantata, who passed away at the age of 94 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on Saturday, was a revered figure in Nigeria’s business and philanthropic circles, widely respected for his contributions to commerce, community development, and national unity.
The delegation, led by the Minister of Defence and former Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, departed Nigeria on Sunday night and arrived in Madinah in the early hours of Monday.

Also part of the team are the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Prince Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, and the Minister of State for Housing Development, Honourable Yusuf Abdullahi Ata.
Prominent Islamic clerics accompanying the delegation include Dr Bashir Aliyu Umar, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, and Khalifa Abdullahi Muhammad, the Imam of Dantata Mosque in Abuja.
The Nigerian Consulate General in Jeddah, led by Ambassador Muazzam Ibrahim Nayaya, has also been actively involved in arrangements for the funeral, which is scheduled to take place later today, Monday.
