Israeli man dies in Abuja hotel

An Israeli citizen, Avi Warshaviak, passed away in Abuja after reportedly falling ill at a hotel located in the Garki area of the Federal Capital Territory.

Security analyst Zagozola Makama reported that the incident took place on Saturday, June 28, while Warshaviak was lodged at the hotel alongside his wife.

Sources said Warshaviak began experiencing sudden health issues at approximately 9:51 a.m. and  was quickly transported to Asokoro General Hospital, where medical personnel later confirmed his death.

The hotel’s Chief Security Officer reported the case to the Garki Divisional Police Headquarters at around 11:23 a.m.

In response, police officers visited both the hotel and the hospital to document the scene. The deceased’s remains were subsequently moved to the hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Police sources indicate that efforts are underway to reach the Israeli Embassy in Nigeria to initiate the appropriate consular protocols
