 First Baptist Church Gwagwalada holds 5yrs appreciation service for Reverend Deji Oyelami

The Minister in charge of University Baptist Church, Gwagwalada Abuja, Reverend Bayo Oladeji has called on  religious leaders to always give priority to sermons that will promote peaceful coexistence and national development.

Reverend Bayo Oladeji made the call during the Five Years Appreciation Service held in honour of the Minister in charge of First Baptist Church Gwagwalada Abuja, Reverend Deji Oyelami and public presentation of his book titled “The Lord Is My Shepherd And My Host”.

The Baptist Cleric who noted that the task of repositioning Nigeria required the support of religious leaders commended members of First Baptist Church Gwagwalada Abuja for recognizing and appreciating their Pastor for his contributions to the progress of the Church in the last five years.

He commended members of First Baptist Church, Gwagwalada Abuja for abiding with the constitution of the Nigerian Baptist Convention which stipulates that Pastors under the Convention be appreciated every five years.

While lauding the contributions of Reverend Deji Oyelami to the progress of the Church in the last five years, Reverend Bayo Oladeji solicited the continuous support of members to him towards actualizing God’s divine purpose for First Baptist Church, Gwagwalada Abuja.

On his part, the Book Reviewer and Dean of Postgraduate Studies, University of Abuja, Rev. Prof. Siyan Peters said the book written by Reverend Deji Oyelami titled “The Lord Is My Shepherd And My Host” is timely as everyone needs a shepherd that will lead him or her to the promise land.

While recommending the book for every christians and non christians, Rev. Prof. Siyan Peters advised religious leaders to always update their knowledge towards ensuring good and patriotic followers hip that would contribute to the betterment of the society.

In a remark, the Celebrant, Reverend Deji Oyelami who described culture of appreciation as one of the means of breakthrough in life thanked the Church for their kind gesture

While admonishing christians to always appreciate God in their endeavours, Reverend Deji Oyelami also emphasized the need for them not to allow the present economic situation of the country to take away the joy of the Lord from them.

Commenting on his book titled “The Lord Is My Shepherd And My Host”, Reverend Deji Oyelami said the 11 chapters and 85 pages book was written to provide fresh imaginable insight into the very popular Psalms 23; and to emphasize God’s protective care, guidance and provision for His people.

In his words “The main message is to put our total trust in God and to have personal relationship with the Lord towards attracting divine favour, blessings and mercy in all our endeavours “.

“Every Nigerians need a shepherd because nobody can go through the journey of life without someone and everyone needs somebody who can guide their steps towards preventing them from danger and lead them to a place of rest ” He stated

Reverend Deji Oyelami used the opportunity to call on the Federal Government and those in position of authority to allow God to be the shepherd of Nigeria because good shepherd is a provider and protector, who offer rest and comfort most especially during difficult times and ultimately, a shepherd leads his sheeps to a place of abundance and security.

He also admonished christians community to always be a sheep for the Lord towards providing better guidance that would ensure better life and above all lead people to Jesus Christ towards gaining eternal life.

Highpoints of the five years appreciation service and book launch were prayers of thanksgiving and presentation of gifts.
