Akwa Ibom : Panic as lifeless body of lady found in gutter

There was panic on Wednesday in Udok Street, off Barracks Road in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State as residents of the area woke up  to the shocking sight of a young woman’s lifeless body lying in a gutter.

The victim has been identified as Goodness Israel. At the time of this report, the circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear, as there were no visible signs of violence on the body, aside from foam coming from her nose.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Akwa Ibom State Police Command, DSP Timfon John said that the identification was made possible through a document found on the deceased.

“The name on the NIM found carries ‘Goodness Edem Israel’. Investigation is in progress; I will communicate further developments,” she said.

Police have begun a probe into the incident, while the community remains in shock over the mysterious death.
