Tragedy strikes again in Borno as bomb explosion kills 4, injures many

A tragic explosion has claimed the lives of at least four travellers and left several others injured on the Damboa-Maiduguri highway in Borno State, in yet another violent attack on one of the region’s most dangerous routes.
According to reports, the blast occurred around 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, targeting a commercial vehicle carrying an unspecified number of passengers. The explosion caused a devastating scene of carnage, with emergency responders reportedly rushing to the location.
This latest attack comes just weeks after a similar bomb blast on the same stretch of road killed seven people, further heightening fears among commuters and residents in the conflict-torn state.
The Damboa-Maiduguri highway is known to be a hotbed of terrorist activity, with insurgents often planting improvised explosive devices (IEDs) to ambush travellers and disrupt movement in the area.
