Police make shocking revelation on man who breached security during Tinubu’s visit to Kaduna

The Kaduna State Police Command has provided clarity on a viral video showing a man breaching security during President Bola Tinubu’s recent visit to the state, stating that the individual in question is mentally unstable and acted out of emotional excitement.
In a statement issued on Friday, the police explained that the event took place at Murtala Square, Kaduna, during the President’s official engagement. According to the Command, the man had jumped over a security barrier and attempted to access a restricted section of the venue.
The man was identified as Umar Mohammed, a resident of Unguwan Mu’azu in Kaduna, and was described by authorities as someone who has lived with psychiatric disorders and is considered of unsound mind.
“He was screened and admitted into the stadium as an APC supporter, wearing the standard campaign T-shirt and carrying banners bearing the images of the President and the Governor, like every other supporter,” said DSP Mansir Hassan, the Command’s Public Relations Officer.
DSP Hassan further noted that Umar was among a group of supporters positioned in an approved area before making an unexpected move toward the President.
“He acted out of anxiety and emotional excitement, expressing a long-held desire to meet the President and the Governor.“He was immediately stopped and arrested by the inner security cordon.“No incriminating item was found on him,” the statement read.
Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Muhammad, cautioned the public against disseminating misleading information or politicizing security matters.
“He noted that the video trending on social media had been doctored and misrepresented to cause public mischief.“The matter is under investigation, and anyone found to be spreading falsehood will be invited for questioning and prosecuted if found culpable,” the police warned.
The Command also appealed to residents to remain peaceful and comply with law enforcement efforts aimed at preserving order across the state.
