Israeli air assault : Over 650 die in Iran – US group

More than 650 people have been reported dead across Iran after a week of intense Israeli airstrikes, according to a U.S.-based human rights group.
The Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), which operates from the United States, said on Friday that 657 people had been killed and 2,037 others injured in the ongoing bombardment targeting multiple regions of Iran.
The Iranian government has not released official casualty figures in response to the strikes, which began seven days ago.
HRANA, which compiles its data from a wide network of informants and open sources, said the toll includes at least 263 civilians and 164 military personnel. An additional 230 victims have yet to be identified.
The group also detailed damage to critical civilian infrastructure. “A projectile struck a children’s hospital in Tehran,” it reported, though the incident did not cause any injuries. In Ilam province, located in the west of the country, a fire station sustained damage, while a strike on a car manufacturing facility led to a large blaze.
Israel has maintained that the military campaign is aimed at preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons—a capability it views as a direct threat to its existence.
