La Liga champions Barcelona have taken a major step toward bolstering their attack after reaching a personal agreement with Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams.

According to renowned transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, the Spanish international has agreed to a six-year contract that will keep him at the Camp Nou until June 2031. The deal reportedly includes a lucrative salary package worth €7–8 million net per season, reflecting Barcelona’s confidence in the 21-year-old’s rising potential.

While the personal terms are already sealed, the next hurdle for Barcelona is to negotiate a financial agreement with Athletic Bilbao to finalize the transfer. Williams, who has been in stellar form for both club and country, is considered one of Spain’s most exciting young talents.

Romano stated, “Nico Williams and Barça have agreed personal terms on 6 year deal. Agreement sealed on player’s contract until June 2031 with the salary in the region of €7/8m net per season. Barça are currently working on financial terms to get the deal done with Athletic.”

The 22-year-old winger has been one of the standout performers in La Liga and was part of Spain’s squad at the Nations League 2024.

His potential move to Barça has been widely anticipated as the Catalan club looks to reinforce its attacking options for the coming season.
