Former Kano LG chairman, Mahmoud Madakin Gini, is dead
Tragedy has struck in Kano State as Mahmoud Sani Madakin Gini, a two-term Chairman of Dala Local Government Council, has passed away following a fatal car accident.
According to reports, Madakin Gini lost his life on Monday in an accident that occurred along the Kaduna-Abuja highway, specifically at Kateri. The news was confirmed by Umar Ladiyo, a close family friend.
Madakin Gini served as chairman during the administration of Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, holding office between 2004 and 2011, a period marked by various grassroots development initiatives in Dala LGA.
In an official statement, the current Chairman of Dala Local Government, Surajo Ibrahim Imam, announced that the funeral prayer for the late politician will take place today by 5:00 p.m. at his family residence in Yelwa Quarters, Kano.
