JUST IN: Fallen petrol tanker bursts into flames on Lagos-Ibadan expressway

A tragic incident unfolded on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Tuesday as a petroleum tanker fell and exploded, sparking panic and causing damage to nearby vehicles.

The Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the incident, stating that it occurred at the NASFAT U-Turn axis of the busy highway.

According to the command, emergency response teams were swiftly deployed to the scene to manage the situation and prevent further damage.

Eyewitnesses report that the explosion engulfed several vehicles that were close to the tanker at the time of the incident, though as of the time of reporting, no casualties had been officially confirmed.

The FRSC has urged motorists to avoid the affected section of the expressway and follow traffic diversions to ensure safety and allow emergency crews to complete their operations.
