Ganduje mourns losses in Kano GSM market blaze, urges swift relief measures

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has extended heartfelt condolences to traders and residents affected by the recent fire outbreak at the bustling Farm Centre GSM Market in Kano.

In a statement released through his Chief Press Secretary, on Sunday, Edwin Olofu, Ganduje lamented the damage caused by the inferno, emphasizing the severe impact on businesses and the broader economic landscape of both Kano State and the country.

“I am deeply saddened by the news of the fire that engulfed the Farm Centre GSM Market in Kano. This market is a vital hub of commerce, innovation, and youth-driven enterprise. The destruction of livelihoods, goods, and investments is truly heartbreaking,” Ganduje said.

He urged emergency management agencies at both the federal and state levels to investigate the cause of the blaze and provide urgent assistance and long-term rehabilitation to those affected.

Ganduje also appealed to philanthropic organizations, private companies, and individuals to support the victims in rebuilding their businesses and livelihoods.

He went on to commend the rapid response by emergency personnel—including the Kano State Fire Service, security forces, and volunteers—whose quick action helped curb the fire’s spread and minimize further destruction.

Reaffirming his dedication to the people of Kano, Ganduje assured residents that he would work with stakeholders to ensure affected individuals receive the support they need.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with all the victims of this unfortunate incident. May Almighty Allah (SWT) give them the strength to overcome this tragedy and grant them swift recovery and restoration,” he said.
