NAF jets strike Boko Haram camps foil planned Sallah attacks Official

Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter aircraft have carried out targeted strikes on Boko Haram strongholds in Borno State, eliminating numerous insurgents and dismantling their logistics hubs, according to a senior military spokesperson.

The strikes were launched by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) at identified terrorist enclaves in Tumbumma Baba and Chiralia.

The air operations, which took place on Thursday and Friday, followed actionable intelligence indicating that the insurgents were plotting assaults during Eid celebrations.

In a statement released Saturday in Abuja, the Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, detailed the operation’s outcome.

He said, “NAF conducted series of precision airstrikes on Thursday and Friday, based on credible intelligence on the plan by the terrorists to launch attacks on Sallah Day.”

The air raids specifically targeted buildings reportedly used by the extremists for logistics coordination and weapons storage, delivering precise hits that neutralised the threats.

“NAF aircraft targeted terrorist structures reportedly used for storage and coordination, delivering direct hits and crippling planned attacks aimed at disrupting Eid celebrations,” Ejodame stated.

He further confirmed that post-strike assessments showed the elimination of several insurgents and the destruction of critical facilities used by the terror group.

“This pre-emptive action underscores NAF’s commitment to safeguarding civilian lives and supporting national security objectives,” he added.
